About GuestSignals

A measurement company built for restaurants

GuestSignals exists because the guest experience is the one part of a restaurant business that stays invisible until it shows up as a fall in repeat visits. We give operators a way to measure it themselves, location by location.

01Why we exist

Mystery shopping has a credibility problem. We built the fix.

Operators have been sold mystery shopping for decades and been disappointed by it just as often: scores that mean nothing, reports written in consultant language, and programs that depend on a shopper network the client can neither see nor control.

GuestSignals was built the other way round. The program belongs to the operator. The survey is drawn from their own service standards, the people who shop are theirs — managers from another location, trusted regulars, or guests who sign up for a slot — and every submission is evidence-checked before it can affect a score.

We work only with restaurants, because a drive-thru at 12:30, a counter handoff at 18:00 and a tasting menu at 20:00 are three different service problems. Specialisation is what lets a survey ask the right question at the right moment, in language a shift lead recognises.

Our position

“Every table tells you something. Our job is to make sure the operator hears it — with the evidence, in time to do something about it.”

02What we do

Three disciplines, one evidence standard

Programs usually start with surveys and grow into audits and benchmarking once the reporting cadence is established.
01

Mystery shopper surveys

The platform your team runs: scored surveys built from your standards, collected from your own shoppers or from guests who sign up for a date, and reported location by location.

02

Service audits

Where a program needs an operational read — an opening, a remediation or a brand-standard rollout — the same framework runs as a structured audit alongside the regular surveys.

03

Competitive benchmarking

Paired surveys at the competitors you actually compete with in a market, scored on your framework rather than a generic one.

03How we work

Four operating rules that decide what ships

These are not aspirations. They are the reasons a response gets held back, a question gets cut from a survey, or a feature does not make it into the platform.
01

Evidence before opinion

If a finding cannot be evidenced — a receipt, a timestamp, a photograph, a statement a participant is prepared to stand behind — it does not go in the report.

02

The operator owns the program

Your standards, your people, your data. We build the platform and keep it running; the judgement about what a good visit looks like stays with you.

03

The respondent matters

Participants are your managers, your regulars or your guests. Surveys are short, instructions are clear, and no participant's identity is ever shared with the location they surveyed.

04

Client data is client data

Your responses, scores and standards belong to you. We never resell program data or use it to benchmark a competitor.

04Coverage and team

Any market you trade in, one program standard

Because the people who shop are yours, coverage follows your estate rather than a fixed list of cities we happen to have recruiters in.
  • Metro, suburban and rural locations measured on the same survey and the same weights.
  • Participants you already trust: managers, regulars, a customer panel, or guests through sign-up.
  • No location is ever warned, and no participant is identified to the location they surveyed.
  • Program leads, survey designers and reviewers work as one team on your account.

Configuration and survey build included.

2

7

Areas scored

Weighted to your standards.

100

Point location index

Comparable across every location.

05Confidentiality

Discretion is part of the service

Programs run quietly. Employees are never told which response came from which visit, and your competitors never learn what you measure.
  • A participant's identity is never disclosed to the location they surveyed.
  • Survey questions, weights and results are confidential to your account.
  • We do not benchmark your brand for another client, and we do not resell program data.
  • Guest data collected through a sign-up page stays on your program.
  • Dashboard access is limited to the named users on your account.
